Description

This crispy air fryer chicken recipe is quick and easy, perfect for a family meal!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds skin on chicken (legs and thighs)
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for spraying chicken (vegetable, canola or olive oil)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry chicken; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. In another large bowl, whisk together flour and seasonings.
  4. Coat chicken with the flour mixture.
  5. Dip chicken in the buttermilk mixture.
  6. Repeat the coating process in the flour mixture.
  7. Place chicken in air fryer basket, spray basket with oil, and leave room around each piece to allow air to flow.
  8. Spray chicken with oil.
  9. Cook at 370 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Turn chicken over and spray with more oil.
  11. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes or until golden.
  12. Repeat with remaining chicken.
  13. Serve immediately.
  14. Store leftovers in refrigerator in an airtight container.

Notes

  • This recipe works well with any part of the chicken.
  • For extra crunch, you can double coat the chicken.
