Description

This homemade focaccia is soft, flavorful, and topped with scallions and sesame seeds, making it perfect for any meal or occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (plus more for greasing and drizzling)
  • 1 cup chopped scallions
  • Flaky sea salt to taste
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Pour in warm water and olive oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover and let it rest at room temperature for 3-4 hours (or overnight in the fridge).
  4. Grease a baking pan generously with olive oil. Transfer dough into the pan and gently stretch it to fit.
  5. Let the dough rise in the pan for 45-60 minutes or until puffy.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  7. Use your fingers to dimple the dough. Drizzle more olive oil over the top.
  8. Evenly sprinkle chopped scallions, flaky salt, and sesame seeds if using.
  9. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
