Description

A delicious taco-inspired dish with a flaky biscuit crust, perfect for a family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Press the biscuit dough evenly into the bottom of the dish, sealing seams. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly set.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is fully browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning, drained diced tomatoes with green chilies, and chopped bell pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  5. In a bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese until smooth.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the partially baked biscuit crust.
  7. Spread the sour cream mixture over the beef layer evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  9. Bake for 25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
