Description

Deliciously soft and chewy red velvet cookies rolled in powdered sugar.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  3. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Roll small portions of dough (about 1 inch in diameter) into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set.
  8. Allow cookies to cool slightly before rolling them in powdered sugar.
