Description

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup water
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 recipe frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and place paper cupcake liners into a muffin pan.
  2. Add the ingredients to a medium bowl and whisk gently to combine.
  3. Divide the batter between the prepared muffin cups, using about 1/4 cup in each.
  4. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the middle is firm to a light touch and a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean. Try not to overbake.
  5. Let cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes, then carefully transfer to a wire rack to cool fully.
  6. Add desired frosting.
